Make Your Space Breathable
Breathe better air with the help of these pollution fighting house plants. Plan a Saturday morning trip to your local nursery, to pick a few of these beauties up.
Here's three common pollutants found in the household:
1. Ammonia: found in several cleaning products. Can cause respiratory illnesses, eye, nose, and throat irritations. Place one of these plants in the bathroom and kitchen: English Ivy, Snake Pant, Spider Plant, Dracanea, or Peace Lily
2. Formaldehyde: found in insulation, synthetic building materials, and cigarette smoke. Can cause respiratory issues, asthma, and also nose, eye, or throat irritations. Place one of these plants in the living room, kitchen, or bedroom: Lilyturf, Peach Lily, Snake Plant, or Aloe Vera.
3. Benzene: found in gasoline, paint, synthetic building materials, and industrial emissions. Place one of these plants by any door that opens to outdoor space, also in sunrooms, and bedrooms: Snake Plant, Gerbera Daisy, English Ivy, Garden Mum, or Dracanea.
